Agadir · M’Hamid · Ouarzazate · Sidi Ifni · Tata
From Agadir’s sea air to desert nights, then from Tata’s oases to Sidi Ifni’s cliffs: eleven days by 4x4 through a spectacular, contrasting and deeply human southern Morocco.
Ocean & Bivouacs Expedition is designed as a true crossing of southern Morocco rather than a simple sightseeing loop. From Agadir, the group gradually leaves the Atlantic for Ouarzazate, gateway to the land of kasbahs. The national escort remains with the group throughout the journey, linking geography, culture, local economy and ways of life.
The route then pushes south to M’Hamid, at the edge of the Sahara. Two nights create a genuine desert pause: camp atmosphere, open horizons and nomadic culture. The 4x4 becomes central to the experience, connecting tracks, oases and remote southern territories.
After the desert, Tata reveals another side of the South: the mineral Anti-Atlas, oases and earthen villages. A camp night keeps the immersive rhythm before the journey returns to the Atlantic at Sidi Ifni, with its distinctive urban heritage, cliffs and the landscapes of Legzira.
The return to Agadir closes a loop defined by contrast: ocean and desert, kasbahs and camps, arid mountains and coastal towns. That diversity is what gives this itinerary its distinct identity within the EMIT Morocco collection.
Ocean and desert in one journey — The itinerary moves from the Atlantic coastline to Saharan spaces, combining sea air, Anti-Atlas relief, kasbahs and desert landscapes in a single southern crossing.
4x4 tracks as part of the experience — A Toyota Land Cruiser or equivalent with a professional driver links very different regions and gives the journey a genuine expedition feel while keeping logistics controlled.
Two nights around M’Hamid — Two nights around M’Hamid allow the Sahara to become more than a brief stop: camp atmosphere, silence, wide horizons and proximity to nomadic culture.
Tata, a quieter Anti-Atlas stage — Tata adds a less-travelled dimension with oases, earthen villages and mineral landscapes, plus a camp night away from the main tourist corridors.
Sidi Ifni and Legzira — Two nights on the Atlantic coast reveal Sidi Ifni’s distinctive character and the red-rock scenery of Legzira before the route returns to Agadir.
An expert escort from Day 1 to Day 11 — The national escort connects landscapes with history and communities: kasbahs, oases, nomadic traditions, coastal heritage and contemporary life in southern Morocco.
